
Albert Vela III is currently in his 13th year as an Assistant Director at Oak Ridge High School in Conroe, TX. His duties include being the lead director of the War Eagle Marching Band and conducting the Symphonic Band.
An active participant in the Drum and Bugle Corps activity, Albert is currently on the brass staff of the 19-time DCI World Champion Blue Devils and has previously been on brass staff with Guardians (Caption Head), Oregon Crusaders, and Revolution Drum and Bugle Corps. He was also a marching member and vocal soloist with The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps.
Away from teaching, Albert is the Curriculum and Media Specialist with the TonalEnergy Team. His music education experiences have been crucial to TonalEnergy being utilized as a top tool by musicians of all ages around the world.
Albert recently completed a Master of Arts in Band Studies at Sam Houston State University and holds a BA in Music Education from The University of Houston.
His professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, Texas Music Adjudicators Association, and Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Fraternity - Alpha Chapter.
Outside of teaching, Albert enjoys spending his time with his wonderful wife Audra, exploring the many foodie and arts opportunities around the City of Houston, and traveling both locally and abroad.
